A1 is the beginner level on the CEFR scale, and is the first level of the framework. At First Business English we know that as a level A1 Business English learner it might be challenging and daunting when your just starting out on your Business English learning journey. Just know that First Business English will support you every step of the way and ensure that we progress at a pace that suits your English language ability.
At First Business English we will follow a curriculum that supports both level A1 and A2 at the same time and you might find that your ability will be tested at every lesson, but it is better to stretch yourself in order to get the best out of your lessons. We follow a structured curriculum that has been tried and tested to produce results. We start off slow and get you ready for each and every lesson.

In this lesson you will practice the names of countries and nationalities and talk about the origins of some world famous brands.
Lesson 3: Possessive Adjectives
In this lesson you will practice and learn about possessive adjectives my, your, his, her, its, our, your, and their. There will also be a practice role play.
Lesson 4: What Time Is It?
In this lesson you will work with numbers and practice the pronunciation and learn the expressions for telling the time.

In this lesson you will listen to a job interview and learn to use can and can’t to describe your abilities and do a practice interview.
Lesson 6: Describing People
In this lesson you will learn the basic adjectives and structures for describing people’s appearance and their personalities.
Lesson 7: Jobs and Routines
In this lesson you will learn about various jobs and occupations and you will learn how to speak about your daily routines using the present simple.
Lesson 8: Family
In this lesson you will learn how to talk about your family members and possessives and answer basic questions requesting information about people.
Lesson 9: What I Like
In this lesson you will learn how to describe your leisure activities and use like / don’t like, love, hate, prefer + verb with -ing in determining your preference.
Lesson 10: Work Relationships
In this lesson you will learn basic vocabulary for describing the relationships between the members of a company’s staff.
Lesson 11: Work & Play
In this lesson you will learn the vocabulary of typical work tasks and leisure time activities through the adverbs of frequency.
Lesson 12: What’s The Weather Like?
In this lesson you will learn and practice vocabulary of different types of weather and will be able to talk about the weather in your own country.
Lesson 13: Describing People At Work
In this lesson you will learn basic adjectives for describing people’s character traits at work and practice by describing yourself and your colleagues.
Lesson 14: Rules Of The Workplace
In this lesson you will learn how to talk about workplace rules and will practice by creating rules for your household and your workplace.

In this lesson you learn how to describe different places of work as well as common collocation for typical work tasks and use expressions of frequency.

In this lesson you will learn how to order coffee and snacks in a coffee shop and listen to a dialogue of a coffee shop experience.

In this lesson you will be introduced to the past simple forms of regular verbs and read a text about Steve Jobs and a speaking activity on Anita Roddick.

In this lesson you will learn how to socialize in English and will learn a variety of conversation starters and typical responses to converse with confidence.
Lesson 19: 20th Century Lives
In this lesson you will learn how to define vocabulary relating to real life stories and learn about the past simple of the irregular verb “to be”.
Lesson 20: Company History
In this lesson you will learn how different companies started and read an article about Patagonia Inc and listen to a description of how The Body Shop started.
Lesson 21: Crazy Hotels
In this lesson you will learn how to create sentences with “there is and there are” and go through a text and dialogue about four unusual hotels.
Lesson 22: At The Hotel
In this lesson you will learn how to book a hotel room and check in to the hotel. You will have the opportunity to do a role play activity in the lesson.
Lesson 23: Weekends
In this lesson you will learn the vocabulary relating to weekend activities and will be introduced to the form, and pronunciation of irregular past simple verbs.
Lesson 24: On Holiday
In this lesson you will listen to three people talking about their holidays and recognize the prepositions at, in and on commonly used with locations.
Lesson 25: Location
In this lesson you will learn common prepositions of location (in, on, next to, in front of, behind, between, above and under) of people and objects in the office.
Lesson 26: Asking For Directions
In this lesson you will learn how to ask for directions and also to give directions. There will also be an role-play active to practice the vocabulary presented.
Lesson 27: Eat The Rainbow
In this lesson you will learn the vocabulary relating to fruit and vegetables and introduced to countable and uncountable nouns to express quantity.
Lesson 28: The Body
In this lesson you learn key vocabulary for describing parts of the body, body actions, the five senses, the present continuous and verbs liking / disliking.
Lesson 29: On The Calendar
In this lesson you will review vocabulary for diary events and compare two grammatical forms to talk about future arrangements, plans and intentions.
Lesson 30: Robots
In this lesson you will identify some tasks for robots and listen to a podcast where experts make predications about the future of robots.
Lesson 31: Money Smart
In this lesson you define common verb + preposition combinations and read about saving money. You will also practice modal verbs for giving advice.
Lesson 32: Something To Eat
In this lesson you learn how to describe food and drinks and use countable and uncountable nouns. You will also watch a video and do a role-play.
Lesson 33: At The Restaurant
In this lesson you will learn how to order a meal at a restaurant and do a role play activity to practice the vocabulary introduced during the lesson.
Lesson 34: Questions
In this lesson you will practice asking questions and will be introduced to to question words; who, why, where, when, whose and will participate in role-play.
Lesson 35: On Your Desk
In this lesson you learn the vocabulary for common objects found on a desk. You will describe what’s on your desk using there is/are and the verb have.
Lesson 36: Marketing Words
In this lesson you will learn the useful vocabulary related to marketing as well as comparative of basic adjectives.
Lesson 37: Commuting
In this lesson you will learn key prepositions and useful adjectives for talking about commuting to work and also do a vocabulary exercise on car parts.
Lesson 38: Companies And Places
In this lesson you learn the superlative form of adjectives by reading profiles of several renowned companies and answer questions about places.
Lesson 39: Cultural Differences
In this lesson you compare the behavior and cultural habits of people from different countries. You will also speak about how people in your country behave.
Lesson 40: Ready To Travel
In this lesson you learn how to use the infinitive for expression. We build on previous lessons grammar including the past simple and questions forms.
Lesson 41: Devices And The Internet
In this lesson you will look at different devices that are connected to the internet and also listen to dialogue in which people are using these devices.
Lesson 42: Visiting The Doctor
In this lesson you learn how to describe a number of medical ailments, symptoms and treatments. You will also listen to two simple doctor-patient dialogues.
Lesson 43: Business Trips
In this lesson you will be introduced to the perfect form of the verb ‘be’ and use a number of grammatical forms presented in previous lessons.
Lesson 44: Achievement
In this lesson you will practice forming sentences and questions in the present simple. You will also read a text and practice an activity about Bill Gates.
Lesson 45: Basic Phrasal Verbs
In this lesson you will watch a number of videos about 14 phrasal verbs and how to put them into practice. You will also participate in role-play.
Lesson 46: A City Break
In this lesson you will learn and practice vocabulary to talk about a city break. Exercises will focus on what to pack and how to get around a city.
Lesson 47: Buying Souvenirs
In this lesson you learn how to buy souvenirs in English and listen to conversations of customers buying souvenirs. You will practice in role-play.
Lesson 48: In Have Been To…
In this lesson you are introduced to the present perfect form of the verb to be. You discuss different types of souvenirs and pros and cons of buying them.
