Beginner Level A1 on the CEFR
A1 is the beginner level on the CEFR scale, and is the first level of the framework. At First Business English we know that as a level A1 Business English learner it might be challenging and daunting when your just starting out on your Business English learning journey. Just know that First Business English will support you every step of the way and ensure that we progress at a pace that suits your English language ability.
For non-native speakers of English, achieving a level A1 means that you have a basic understanding of the language. At this level, you will be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases. You will be able to introduce yourself to others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where you live, people you know, and about things you have. You will also be able to interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
However, it is important to note that the CEFR is just a guideline and that language proficiency is not always easy to measure. Achieving an A1 level does not necessarily mean that you will have full proficiency in the language. At First Business English we will follow a curriculum that supports both level A1 and A2 at the same time and you might find that your ability will be tested at every lesson, but it is better to stretch yourself in order to get the best out of your lessons.
