First Business English Curriculum
At First Business English we use a curriculum that provides a progressive approach to learning English and is the best way to build your Language skills.
We provide a structured approach where each lesson builds on the previous lesson before introducing new vocabulary.
This enables you to grow in confidence in your ability to speak English. It is a tried and test approach to learning English and adopted by us at First Business English.
The 1 hour conversation lesson is a great opportunity for you to practice your English about a specific topic.
You will be provided a list of topics prior to your lesson and you will decide the topic of your 1 hour lesson with First Business English.
It's a great opportunity to practice your English for an upcoming event or meeting where you will need to speak English.
Expemo is an language learning app that is used to reinforce the vocabulary of each lesson you take with First Business English through repetition.
When you sign up for a lesson plan with First Business English we will sign you up for an Expemo subscription.
The lesson worksheet we provide you for your lesson will have an Expemo QR Code that you can scan to access your lesson review material.
It is designed to reinforce your ability to use the vocabulary presented in your previous lesson. An Expemo Subscription is only available for our structured curriculum. It is not available for individual conversation lessons only.
Purchases & Refunds
Once you have completed your trial lesson and consultation you can book your lessons by clicking Book Now and selecting an available time. You can pay with all major Credit and Debit Cards and once you've paid your lesson schedule is confirmed.
We use PayPal for all payments processed.
We understand that life takes over sometimes and you may not be able to make your scheduled lesson time. At First Business English we will request that you provide 12 hours notice of missed scheduled lesson time.
If you do not provide 12 hours notice of missed lesson time you will lose that lesson and your available financial balance will be deducted by 1 hour.
If you do provide notice of 12 hours of missed lesson time scheduled you will receive 1 strike. If you receive 3 strikes you will financially lose 1 hour lesson time.
If you have to miss a scheduled lesson you must notify First Business English at least 12 hours in advance. If you do notify First Business English at least 12 hours in advance of your scheduled lesson time you will receive 1 strike.
If you miss 3 lessons and do notify First Business English at least 12 hours before lesson time you will receive 3 strikes. If you received 3 strikes you will lose 1 hour and your available financial balance will be deducted by 1 hour.
If you have paid for a scheduled lesson plan you may receive a refund at any time should you wish to cancel your lesson plan. You must provide 14 days notice in advance.
If you have attended your scheduled lessons and are not subject to either missed lessons or our 3 strike rule you will be refunded the available financial balance of your account minus transaction costs incurred by First Business English to process the initial sign up transaction and refund transaction fees.
At First Business English we incur costs for processing payments when you sign up for your lesson plan and also to provide you with your refund. Your refunded amount will be determined by the outstanding balance on your account and also the transaction cost involved to process your payments.
You will be refunded to the same source / method to which your original payment was processed.
General Questions Answered
The first Introduction lesson with First Business English is a chance for you to meet your tutor and try our teaching methods and approach.
The first lesson will start with introductions, a 20 - 30 minute lesson and then an opportunity for you to discuss possible future lessons with First Business English.

There is no need to purchase any material for First Business English lessons. We will provide you with your lesson plan worksheet for each lesson. If you are also subscribed to our First Business English curriculum your Expemo subscription is free to use. There are no additional costs.
Each lesson with First Business English are 60 minutes long. Our lessons are designed based on this timeframe.
If you require a specific lesson duration such a 30 minute or 90 minute lesson please contact us. These lessons will be considered customized lessons and the price will vary and be agreed in advance.
At First Business English we update our schedule on a monthly basis for the month ahead.
This enables us to ensure we have tutors available for your lessons and to minimize potential cancellations.
If your preferred time slot is not available please contact us to see if we can schedule an alternative time that suits you.
There are two ways to book First Business English 1-to-2 lessons with another learner.
If you and a friend or colleague wish to book with First Business English you simply contact us and agree your lesson schedule with your learning partner.
Once you have paid for your lessons you can book lessons online through the book now button on this website.
During your lesson schedule please be advised that you will individually be subject to the process of missed lessons.
If one partner misses a lesson they will continue at the next lesson in the sequence of their partners lesson and will be subject to our missed lesson policy.
At First Business English we believe that learning English includes opportunities to experience English outside of the structured program.
Our First Business English English Hour is an opportunity for First Business English Learners to join us for a free lesson if you are on a paid plan to listen to native English speakers in a business context.
We will determine the scenario which can be anything such as a job interview or work presentation. Each time it will be a different scenario but it does provide you an opportunity to listen to a native English speaking conversation within a specific business context.
At First Business English we use Zoom for all our lessons. It is a very simple platform to use and you will be sent a Zoom invitation link in advance of all your scheduled lessons with First Business English.
At First Business English we have our built in module review lessons. A module is typically 10 lessons and at the end of each module we will have a review lesson to determine your progress and familiarity with the vocabulary and structure presented during the module.
At the end of each module we will discuss areas of focus and if needed we will provide an additional lesson that will focus on your requirements before progressing to the next module. We work in partnership with you on your First Business English learning journey.
If you need help with an English language document we will be able to assist you. If you need our service to proofread or edit documents such as professional documents, resumes, emails, websites or contracts we are happy to help. Prices will vary depending on the length of each document. Contact us with your requirements.
At First Business English we believe that our students get the best English language learning experience in either 1-to-1 lessons or 1-to-2 lessons.
